There are two types of plating methods for hardware: hanging and rolling. For hanging finish, each item is individually dipped and later sprayed with lacquer for a long-lasting coat. This process is more labor intensive than rolling finish, and therefore more expensive. You can feel and see the difference compared to rolling finish. Bag making is a passionate pursuit and takes time, so it’s important to have purse hardware that lasts.

Keep Your Bag Hardware Looking New!
Extend the life and luster of your bag hardware with regular care. Every 3–6 months, apply a small amount of Carnauba Wax using a soft microfiber cloth. This boosts shine, protects against water, and preserves the finish. For darker finishes, black wax or oil can help enhance color—but skip this step on lighter metals to avoid discoloration.

Clean before waxing and buff gently after a few minutes for best results. Skip harsh products like polishing compounds, abrasive waxes, or nail polish, which can damage the plating. For deep scratches, use a touch of acrylic paint before waxing. Always keep wax away from leather and never wash the bag directly with water.
